caring for your wreath
So now we’re officially allowed to talk about the ‘C’ word (Christmas…definitely not Covid) we thought we’d give you some tips on caring for your wreaths which are avaliable to order now in our online shop!
You get a knock at the door and it’s our courier driver delivering you a big box of christmas loveliness. You open up the box and inhale all those festive scents. You can then either pop the box and paper into your recycling bin, keep the box for some extra storage or get creative with the family and make it into something else. Or let the cat play with it for a while. All acceptable box things.
Next up- the most important thing- The Wreath!
We’ve attached a wire hook onto the wreath frame which you can use if you have a metal door hook. Alternatively we’ve also added a length of ribbon which you can use to hang your wreath from. One option is pretty discreet and not visible, the other is the ribbon so it’s visible and a bit more fancy.
We’ve made our wreaths on copper frames which have been filled with moss. We recommend keeping this moss damp. The stems are wired into the damp moss to keep them fresher for longer. Careful of the damp frame against the woodwork- misting is best so not to totally soak the frame.
Most of the foliage will gradually start to dry out. You can then preserve the wreath this way to hang it for longer if you fancy.
You can of course take out the decor. Cones, ribbon, Star Anise & Cinnamon can all be taken out and kept. If you want to keep the wire frame to re-use/re-purpose, simple turn the wreath over to show the back and carefully cut all the wire. This will make everything fall off the front of the wreath. Be careful though- the wire is sharp and can cut easily! Gloves might be best for this little job!
Then it comes full circle again. Keep an eye out on our shop & blog for upcoming posts which shows you what you can later do with your wreath rings!
